About the Author: Krista Scott-Dixon, PhD
Krista Scott-Dixon, M.A.,
is a doctoral candidate in Women's Studies at York University in Toronto,
Ontario. She first became interested in weight training in high school
as an alternative to being whacked in the head with a dodgeball. Over
the years she became fascinated with the gender politics of bodybuilding, as
well as with the degree of specialized knowledge required to succeed in it.
Presently she runs a
website aimed at demystifying the world of weights for the beginning
female lifter.
