weight training and appetite

Why does the appetite skyrocket when you follow a weight training routine? Do all the anabolic proccesses signal your brain to make you eat more to provide more materials for growth? Or is it psychological in basis, that you think you need to eat a huge amount of food to grow. Maybe it's both of these.
 
Just think about it for a moment.
You are requiring more from your body so your body needs more to work with.
Your body tells you when it wants a drink of water. Right?
Well! That hold true for food as well.
As you implied .
It takes more to make more!
