wieght progression - cutting cycle

After lurking for thousands of messages I now have a question I can't see an answer to.

I have been performing the vanilla HST for four cycles and have made resonable progress. I have now decided to do a cutting cycle, timed to coincide with starting cycling again after the winter (100 miles a week).

My question is should I do as usual and up all my starting/target weights by 5 percent for this cycle or hold the weights from my previous cycle.

I will probably up them but was curious to others thoughts/ expieriences.

Cheers

Why not up them?

Yes, why not.

I had wondered if others had tried this and found that they run out of steam. (Probably just looking for an excuse not to up wieght on my squats).

Increasing your weights just like you would if you were bulking gives you the best chance of maintaining the maximum lean body mass while cutting. Chances are you will lose a bit of muscle with the fat, but maximizing the load you can handle at least gives you a fighting chance to maintain it.
