Hey Bryan,

In your meso article "Pharmacological Approaches to Fat Loss: Targeting Beta-Adrenergic Receptors" you say this:

Maximum effectiveness is achieved when taking 20 mg ephedrine with 200 mg caffeine and 300 mg aspirin three times a day about one half hour before meals.

We discussed this a little over at Lyle's forum and couldn't figure out a reason for taking the ECA before meals / on an empty stomach.

Could you elaborate on why you recommend this?

Thanks,
Brian

Hi babucher,
First let me say that my recommendations in that article were based on the available research at that time. I no longer believe that aspirin adds all that much to the mix. Instead I think omega-3s are a better way to go.

I also believe that using ephedrine every 2 hours is supperior to every 4 hours or "3 times per day". My views are based on the desire to keep ephedrine activity steady thrughout the day. The idea is to try to mimic Clen's activity patterns.

My comments about using it before meals is based on research looking a the effects of this combination on the thermic effect of food. Taking ephedrine/caffein before meals significantly increases the TEF.

And as Lyle put it, "

" He's right on the money there.
