Working around vacation/holidays?

How do you work your HST cycles around vacation and holidays?

You could choose between 1 and 2 weeks SD, or skip 15's, to make the dates line up. Does anybody ever extend a phase?

Of course, this is only if you plan your cycles a couple ahead of time. What do you do if you're caught by surprise?
 
If caught by surprise, then resume working out when you can. If it's just a week off, resume where you left off. If longer, then judge for yourself if you need to decrement your weights by one or two sessions, or more.

I don't plan around holidays myself because I work out at home, so it actually doesn't bother me. But work does, especially when I travel. What I do is simply what I suggested above.
