I'm a simple guy with simple tastes:
1) I'd like to get my Deadlift back up to 345 lbs.
2) I want to get my body weight down below 130 lbs.
3) I'd like to get my waistline down to 28"

Wow, I'm away for a little bit and nearly miss out on all the good stuff. Congratulations, Totz! A new baby boy ought to keep you out of trouble for a while.

But I made it into the gym today, still trying to get back to zero. My doctor advises me...

Another week blew by. Where does the time go? Anyhow, I made it to the gym about 9pm and...
Yup, the squat is one of the most rewarding of all physical exercises. It ranks right up there with the deadlift. It will work out nearly every muscle in your body.
So, yeah, it takes a bit of...
The nice thing about focusing on squats for a whole cycle is that squats help your deadlfit, too. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work as well the other way around -- if you focus on deads, it...

Whew, made it back after another long week off! I chose not to increment the weight on...
Be wise with shoulder pain, it can be an indication of an impending injury. Backing off the weight and certain exercises can be a help, as well as your foam rolling.
If the pain persists, see a...
(and okay, throw in some overhead presses)
Sounds like a plan. Find your maxes, determine your increments, and get started.
Have a good time at boot camp....
Or select your favorite ab exercises (sit ups, cable crunches, whatever...) and incrementally add weights. That would match the HST paradigm.

Agreed -- chin-up assist machines are your friends. If you don't have access to one, then make do with lat pulldowns until you can pull down your own body weight. Then go to chins.
Hey, be nice. We all come here to learn. Some are newer than others.
But yeah, it's good to keep the same exercise and increase the weight.
Sorry to hear you've been ill, _tim. Apparently Lol and I aren't the only ones...
With regard to Vibrams, I eventually decided to forgo the internet route. I went to a real brick and plaster...

I had one thing after another. I suppose variety is the spice of life, that is not what I had in mind. I couldn't even complain because my doctor friend had the same things I did!
Box Squat 10x45,...
We've had a lot of turnover in the past year or so. A lot of the regulars aren't posting (Quad, Russ, MikeyNov, etc.), and then there are a number of new guys. Lol has been our mainstay.
Wow, nice! I'm gone for a bit and look what I miss...
Nice lift -- 405lbs can't be that far off for you now.

I've been out for a bit, as well. I've had my gym bag packed and ready to go since December 26, but I've been down with a series of viruses since then. This is my first week without...
HST is primarily to develop size (hypertrophy). However, strength follows right along.
Your calves are already strong enough to carry you around everyday. A good estimate of your calf strength may...
How come no squats or deads...? Those are usually the foundation for me.
A twelve gauge will indeed make an impression...
I'm not any sort of vet or expert, but I've done a few HST cycles with some success.
I like the exercises you've chosen, but it seems there are about twice as many as I would expect. Are you...
