    Is ionised Whey any better than regular whey. Why ?

    We need more info Rainier...

    What are the exact claims of the company selling it?

    What is their definition of "ionized"?

    Better how, or in what respect?

    Copy me the references they are using to support whatever claims they are making so I can check it out.

    The product I was looking at was Musashi Ionized WPI. http://www.musashi.com.au/products/p...asp?ProdID=29. The website doesn't make any claims to why this is better than other wheys.

    I notice than many companies sell ionized whey ad in all cases it is more expensive than regular whey. I was just wondering what the difference was.

    Generally its just a different method of seperating the whey from the other crud (lactose etc)

    Ion exhange whey protein is just a form of whey proten isolate

    you can also get whey protien isolate from microfiltration also

    Ion exhange will produce a slightly purer protein

    I've always been under the impression that cross-flow microfiltration (CFM) whey isolate is superior. Supposely contains higher concentrations of beneficial substances (beta lactoglobulin, alpha lactalbumin, etc.) than does ion exchange whey isolate.

    Ion-exchange whey has a higher ratio of beta lactoglobulin, which is often associated with gastric upset, than filtered whey. Between ion-exchange and filtered whey, I'd go with filtered.
