Strength Gains With HST

Downward Spiral

I know HST is primarily for growth, but what kind've strength gains have all of you made since starting HST? Provide as much info as possible, if you wouldn't mind (i.e., strength gains from cycle to cycle, and from beginning of HST until now, how long you've been lifting, how long you've been using HST, AAS or not, or anything else relevant).

Why don't you just lurk the boards for a while, and read the HST articles and FAQ. You're welcome here.

Convincing anyone to start a kick tail program like this requires too many verbs and nouns. LOL

5 rep max after 1st HST cycle:
military: 135
bench: 215
Incline bench: 190
Squat:300

After 3rd cycle:
military: 150
bench: 235
Incline bench: 210
Squat:335

I am certainly the strongest I've ever been. Most importantly, I've gone from 178lbs to 210lbs since June. I have put on an acceptable amount of fat. My waist is about 35.5". One more bulking cycle after a nice SD during Christmas and I should be at 220lbs and ready to cut for the summer.

Hhahaha cmon, I have strength gains of anywhere between 20-50$ within 6 months... that's all you need to know....

learn it
live it
love it

190kg for 15 reps, and Ill bet every single one of them was to at least six inches above parallel. No really.

Methinks someone has their pounds and kilos mixed up (or their multiplications and divisions).

strenght = cross sectional area x neural factors

HST increases CSA

HST does increase strenght

There are, however, better methods of strenght increasing, more specified.

Haven't finished my first cycle yet but, just as an example, my 5RM for squats was 235lb before I started. Now I am at the start of my first week of negs and am continuing to load the bar for my squats. I tried, and easily managed, 3 sets at 245lb and will continue to add 10lbs each workout until I can't make 5 reps for the first set. I have no doubt that I will make 255lb for 3 sets.

I have added over a stone to my body weight so far and yet I am now doing dips using an 80lb dumbell for 5s which is 5lb more than when I tested my 5RM. So I am up about 20lb on this exercise.

I'll edit this when I've finished my first week of negs with my results. Unfortunately, my gym is closing for seven days over the hols so I'll have to SD earlier than expected. I may not find out how heavy I can go until I can retest my maxes.

Wow! Just spotted that Jester is doing chins with 120kgs!

I find that I can dip with almost twice the weight I chin with. How on earth can you hang 120kgs on a weight belt? Maybe he meant pounds?

The results are as kilograms as I told you before. So it means I have done 15 reps with ~418 lbs on squat.
I have always had very strong legs. ;)
As you see from the image attached, I have also some size on my tights. :D

p.s. The 15 rep set was done without knee wraps. :D

My strength went up significantly during my first HST cycle, in addition to a 25 lb gain in weight. Here's looking at my 5RM weights at the start of the cycle and at the end:

Exercise - Start of Cycle - End of Cycle
Squats           255                295
Deadlifts         315                365
Calf Raise       300                360
Bench Press    170                210
Incline DBs      80                 90
Arnold Press    55                 70
Upright Row     85                 90
Curls              75                  85
Skull Crushers 65                  75
Dips               245                 280
