Creatine w/ amino acids smells weird?

I ran out of creatine yesterday and stopped by GNC to get some. Usually I just get plain, pure creatine powder. Yesterday I accidentally grabbed "Creatine Plus" which contains glutamine, taurine, and a few other AAs. This stuff smells weird... definitely on the bad side of weird, too. I took it back to GNC today and the guy working there smelled it, and said that's normal for creatine with AAs in it.

Is he correct, or should this stuff not smell bad?

Thanks!

Yep
Amino's stink to high heaven,if you don't like the smell that is.

It is not as pallatable as rotting now or is it?

Jokes aside, it is true! I know we make something similar here that is drinkable called minamino, great stuff but very few people can indulge it

Yeah, I can relate a bit. I used to have this small bottle of BCAA capsules.

I once opened a capsule, and the powder inside really smelled like you know what.

I can almost hear the marketing departments of amino acid supplements manufacturers:

"Oh my god, this stinks!!!"
"You can say that again!"
"Those rich snobs at health clubs would never buy this!"
"Holy crap, we're gonna go broke!!!"
"No, wait! We can sell this crap to bodybuilders!!!"
"Yeah, those guys will buy anything!"
"Good idea! And we'll put in the label that this crap has 'extreme muscle growth action'. They'll never understand, anyway!"

Oh, woe to us bodybuilders!  :D  :D
