Yikes! I don't know if I would personally drink 4 egg whites.
What you might think about doing is having a mixed meal a few hours before you workout, then have a whey based shake (like Primer) mixed with water right before your workout and then carbs and a casein based shake after your workout (like Driver mixed with milk and fruit. Or just eat a mixed meal with carbs and protein. Read the HSN article again -- I believe it tells you how many carbs you need post workout.
Here are some general guidlelines for eating preworkout:
4 hours for a large meal
1-3 hours for a smaller meal
30 minutes to 1 hour for a blended meal, a high-carb beverage or a small snack.
