The Forgotten Body Part?

I was wondering how many here really worked on strengthening their neck muscles?  I mean besides DB shrugs, I am seriously considering doing neck bridges to make my neck stronger.

Here are two articles about the matter as well:

Thoughts?

EDIT: Here is also a "twist":

Call me crazy but I feel my neck working a lot because I really look up HARD doing squats and deads, I find it helps me keep my back flat. My neck gets sore from them. Then, before our BF test for the PT test, I get someone to give me some resistance so I can "pump it up" to get a lower BF% ;)

My neck has grown without direct neck work, so... I don't know. I think neck work could be dangerous though, so make sure if you do it, you use flawless form and don't push it too hard. The last thing you need is a neck injury.

I tried the neck bridge today without hands...to play this safe...I'll balance with my hands....

I don't think you need to do specific neck workouts.

Non of the competition bodybuilders in my gym use 'neck equipment' them and to be honest my necks gone big enough as an indrect effect from heavy training.

Plus how many people that you think have a good physique do you look at and say 'he needs a better neck'?

I remember asking someone about buying neck building equipment, and they said that they were only used by people in sports that really need them (he gave the example of rugby).

I am fortunate to have a 4 way neck machine at my gym, and I train neck using HST principles. I have added some thickness in the last 4 cycles. The neck muscles seem very resistant to growth, I assume it's because they are always working, holding your head up, so they're pretty tough.
