    Back to Basics

Still alive. Been hitting the gym consistently 4-5 days a week for 16 weeks now. I don't think I've been able to go that long uninterrupted for more than a decade. Consistency really makes a difference.

Is This How You Use Myoreps + Maxstim Withing Hst?

Myo sets should be more like 20 to 25 reps, then 3 to 5 sets of 3 to 5 reps. Just do three deep breaths between those myo sets rather than trying to count. Counting during myo reps is very unreliable as you will invariably forget which number you are on. Especially when your muscles feel like...

    Back to Basics

As long as you're not "switching it up" as the bros say on a regular basis so that your body has to relearn an unfamiliar lift then it shouldn't make a whole lot of difference.

    Back to Basics

Honestly, it doesn't seem to make much of a difference for me. Progression of strength for individual lifts is a bit slower but I'm not really focusing on pushing strength gains anyway.

    Back to Basics

Haven't really done an SD on purpose for a while. These days I just wait for life to force some time off and choose then to reset. And yeah.. I mostly just enjoy working the back more than other muscle groups.

Nah not really, and damn calves are like 18 inches or so already. Don't really want them much bigger. Already have enough wardrobe problems as it is. Here's more or less what I do: Day 1: Squat 3 x 6-9 Bench 3 x 6-9 Shoulder Press 2 x 9-12 Cgbp machine 2 x 9-12 Core work Day 2: Deadlift 3 x 3...

    Back to Basics

Right now it's basically the same as what I posted in may except no calf work (since it's a waste of time) and some lifts swapped out for machine variants during my cut. Also 20 minutes of cardio before hand. I can write up a proper post of it once I've got an actual keyboard to type on...

    It's Time.

Two ways to get good calves: 1. Become morbidly obese for a decade or so, then slim down. Formerly obese people usually have killer calves. 2. Find someone blessed with good natural calves (who didnt do #1) - kill them and eat their heart to gain their powers. I can't give much advice other...

    Myoreps + Cns Burnout

Which lifts are you doing them for? Myo-reps, in my experience, are much better suited for machines and cable lifts, or isos that use DBs. With things like curls or leg extensions, stuff like that, I'd highly recommend doing single-limb exercises rather than both limbs at once. I totally get...

    Back to Basics

Wow, times flies. Stopped working as a helpdesk call center tech for the government a while back, now working as a project manager for a smaller IT company which gives me a lot more time and freedom. As a result, I've been able to be a lot more consistent with the gym than I have for years...

    Myoreps + Cns Burnout

Are you using one of the templates Borge supplied? Most of them have you only doing myo style reps like one or two workouts a week. I think doing them every single workout can be a bit much if you aren't eating a lot and making sure you get enough sleep. I'm on a cut and only doing them one...

    Off-topic - Trump

A lot of people would respond to that by saying "But Hillary's emails!" or start saying something about how the previous president was a muslim (which he wasn't but who cares if he was anyway?) or would start talking about how Michelle Obama is actually a guy (did she give birth through her...

More Support For Myo And Effective Reps

New studies are great but how many of these studies can be or have been replicated by other researchers?

Clustering, Myo-rep, Varying Rep Ranges Barbell Plan

To tag along with what Jester was saying - going with linear progression, your issue with missing workouts won't be as big of a deal if your goal is to primarily lose weight. Just add weight each time you do lift, and do cardio. With weight loss, you can easy get along with only two days of...

Frequency 2x Per Week Vs 3x And Question About Muscle Hyperplasia

I knew a guy with the same issue - flu/cold symptoms when he lifts too much. His doctor ended up diagnosing him with exercise-induced asthma. I'm assuming that's valid for his case, but I don't know, I'm not a doctor. I have the opposite problem. If I don't work out enough, my body seems to...

Reverse Hyper - Thoughts And Experiences?

My previous boss screwed his back up doing reverse hypers, but I have no idea if it was a form issue, too much weight, jerking off during the set, or what. I've personally done them in the past with no issue. My gym had a stack loaded machine for this that I actually felt was much nicer and...

Does Anyone Let The Weights Dictate The Reps?

I'm a big fan of auto-regulation. Basically, if you are having a crap day and you just aren't feeling it, do a little less volume. If you are having a day where you feel great, then do a little more. There is a fine line there. You have to know your body well to properly judge when you need...

    Rom And Muscle Growth

I think it's just important people don't get into the habit of shortening the rep range unless there is a valid reason to do so. In most cases, doing a full, safe ROM is the best way.

    Rom And Muscle Growth

Well in some situations it can be appropriate to not go full ROM. Mostly with certain lifts during myoreps, if you keep tension on the muscle by shortening the ROM a bit, it can enhance the occlusion effect. You won't get as many reps with the same load though as you would going full ROM.

    2016 Log

Yeah the knee sleeves mostly just warm the area. I use Tommy Kono knee sleeves, think I got them for like $30 USD. They are a bitch to get on and sometimes rip out a bit of leg hair, but my knees feel a lot better when squatting compared to without.
