    adpowah's training logs

Completed about 3 weeks of conditioning/high rep training and I didn't die so that was nice. Going back to heavy lifting starting tonight. Deadlift went well, pulled 445 a few times fairly casually. Bench went less good and pressed 245 for a handful of reps. All in all it felt good to lift...

I wouldn't worry about causing drama, its good for some spirited discussion. From my point of view the claims seem impossible for anyone looking to get past their genetic minimum. I am sure someone who does nothing going to 10mins a week of intense effort will create an effect, however for...

    Myoreps?

Thanks for the links on Myo-reps. I have recently added them in for bench and back work, but I plan to add them for legs. The training density you get here is mad time efficient!

10mins a week?! What exactly is this guy's reasoning that while all high level athletes are spending numerous hours every single day eating, training, practicing and recovering that he thinks you can get material results with 10min a week?

    adpowah's training logs

Pulled 525 from blocks, it wasn't as heavy as 500 from blocks was about a month ago. But I think I've realized as many immediate strength gains as reasonable from the hypertrophy block, so I am going to head back to building some muscle starting next week. I find when I focus on something I...

    adpowah's training logs

Pulled 475 pretty commandingly. I am going to attempt 5 reps (all as singles) at 455 tonight. Edit: I got the 5 singles, the 5th was a beast. I probably should have aimed for 3. Hopefully I will recover well with the weekend and see if I can pull 485+ on Monday.

Nothing too exciting. Been working on myo reps for upper body and diversifying my exercises. At the end of my workout I pulled 455 sumo with no belt and it went really fast, so that is encouraging.

Will Working Out Every 48 Hrs Induce Over Training With Hst?

With your current 3 workouts, 2 sets and 8 lifts you total 288 working sets within a 6 week cycle. If you increase your total workouts from 18 to 21 and increase your working sets from 2 to 3 you go from 288 working sets to 504. So you are looking at a 75% increase in volume (actually probably...

    adpowah's training logs

@Jester yeah I don't disagree. When training to 500 for conventional I got a lot of benefit from a partial range of motion lift (above and below the knees) at high reps with weight comparatively extremely light (max I ever used was 225). I feel this caused a lot of stimulus for weakpoint...

    adpowah's training logs

@mickc1965 yeah I am going to have to be real honest with myself when it comes to fatigue. I am hoping that because I can recover better from sumo than I can from conventional that I will be able to use some myo or at the very least higher volume work. I am sure after a week or two I will get...

Testosterone Nation Article On Lifters Needing To Lift More Often

Yeah, if I had the circumstances and/or discipline I would prefer to do smaller workouts more often. The studies normalize for volume, which is great from a scientific perspective but I think you can get more weekly volume in with more sessions and have a smaller total fatigue profile. So in a...

    adpowah's training logs

I've been trying to work in more high rep work and so far it has been working out well. Last night was the first time I really gave myo reps a shot and it worked really well. I did them for pretty much my whole upper body routine, the highlight was slignshot bench @225x15,3,3,3 and then after...

I could be wrong and probably shouldn't speak for Bryan but I believe in the context, that I have overly focused on higher intensity low rep work for a long time and that I can (and I am) see a lot of benefit from improving my high rep work. I suppose you could compare it to a an endurance...

    adpowah's training logs

Minor updates on my sumo pulls. I've been working on my mobility and really reducing the intensity but increasing the total volume. I recently pulled 405 for 2x3 or 4 sets and it felt really good. I try and pull each workout and taking more time working on my hips is really starting to show...

    adpowah's training logs

@Browner I had told you previously that I didn't see a lot of carryover from the slingshot because of the acceleration and movement. I recently found putting the slingshot on my bicep rather than elbow (basically just as high on the arms as possible) made the motion much more natural but it did...

Thanks @Old and Grey and @Bryan Haycock I've been experimenting with some higher rep work, it definitely has a fatigue profile that I am unused to. Nothing super defined just 15+ rep type sets with a goal of like 100 total reps. Definitely anything approaching 20reps really pushes my cardio...

Anyone else want to comment on the volume they typically program? I've hit my two main strength goals 315 bench and 500 deadlift. And while I am overall ok with my development, but I'd like to be bigger before I start working on my next strength goals. Below is my typical full body...
