i only have dumbells yet (planning to set up a t-bar on the wall to do some pull ups)... but wondered if any of you could suggest killer exercise for the lats with dumbells!
Related, my right lat is definitely noticably bigger than my left, and it pisses me off.
Any ideas how to correct this? I do chinups at present, but I feel like I may be pulling with my right side a bit more, and the imbalance isn't fixing itself.
try to level it out between both arms concentrate harder to balence it.dumbell rows are good for lats and changing the angles at which you row can hit higher or lower in the lats but chins are one of the best do both and you should have success.
OT: Hey Colby, the words lats and delts both look the same after 14 hours of graft!
I did a long stint (16hrs) of screen staring (website work) the other day and when the icons and other screen wotnots started moving around all by themselves I knew it was time to stop and hit the hay!
Tom: I remember seeing a guy do this once. Never tried it myself as an exercise though. What he did was a pull-up but he only grabbed the bar with one hand (in your case that would be your left). With his free hand (your right) he held onto his other wrist. Then he did a pullup.
Now for the fun part! Release some of the tension (as much as possible) in the supporting arm and do a negative with just the one arm (your left). Rinse and repeat! I imagine that you would need a strap on your left hand unless you have a really strong grip and you could decide how much to involve your right arm for the negative portion.
I suppose you could just do negs this way if you used a bench to climb up to the top position. I have never tried it so it may be a totally impractical proposition. Be fun to try though!
It is getting a whole lot better with weighted chins. LOL's one arm variety is definitely going to work, specially the negative work, in that case do only the side that pisses you off
