Arm Lagging Size

My arms are visually the weakest part of my body although I really can’t complain about their strength. According to the Grecian model, they’re also way behind all other body parts in terms of size. I am not striving for this look, neither is it my objective to impress girls. Everything indicates that my arms are really a bit behind. Has the time come to start some tedious isolation exercises for my biceps, triceps, and forearms?

I’m currently doing a strength peaking cycle with only four lifts: Squat, Bench Press, Overhead (Military) Press, and Deadlift. Would I be better off with more compound lifts – Chin Ups and Close Grip Bench Press coming to mind – or isolation work for the arms?

I would definitely put some weighted chins and weighted dips in your routine. For the dips, don't space your hands too far apart, a bit wider than shoulder width should do.

If you find that's not enough and you do decide to add in some iso for your arms I would add them in during the 10s and 5s. Do tris one session and bis the next and alternate. Do them at the end of your workout and just do a couple of sets.

Seated incline db biceps curls are a good stretch movement as are over-head tri extensions. You can use a straight bar or an E-Z curl bar for both, whichever feels most comfortable for you (I prefer the E-Z curl bar).

Sorry for the delay. I think I'll put in some chin ups and dips since they're not only useful for the tris and bis. Thanks for the thoughts.

I do like Lol, alternating isos.
or you could just put your thumb in your mouth and BLOWREALHARD.

I don't think big guns impresses the girls as much as the guys. You always hear comps from the guys for arms.

If you have been training for more than a year add some isos.

Play with the volume and loads on the iso's for the most part exercise selection is not going to make that big of difference.

And how do I add weight to my thumb, huh?

I know that girls don't give a damn - they look for legs, abs, and chest, but I don't care anyway. I just find my arms too tiny to match the rest. Perhaps that's just my impression. When I get to my goal (15% body fat by June 30, 2008), I'll post some pics to get some opinions here.

I have been training for almost two years. So perhaps I can add the one or other isolation exercise then.

Women who dig big guys like a big chest and coincidentally a large back too. They go hand in hand though.
