clean and press vs. military and BB rows

just looking for opinions on which group is most effective or if they're equally effective

the clean and press saves some time in my workout so i tried it and i have felt more full body involvment.

I have read a lot on here about doing individually Bent Rows and Military. I was just wondering if individually doing those has and advantage over the clean and press.
 
It depends on your goals.

For pure functional strength, the clean and press is numero uno.

If hypertrophy is your goal, do more controlled rows and presses seperately.

In a clean and press, there is too much acceleration of the load which takes stress off the muscles. Also you should be able to row much more than you can press, so thus different loads should be used.
 
Yeah I would have said that Rows and MP "hit" the muscle better, but the idea of "hitting a muscle" might be an outdated concept as far as HST goes. Clean and Presses may be a better mass building exercise in the same way that deadlifts are...
