I am in college and will be starting HST program for my first. I was just wondering what everyone’s eating routine comprise of on a typical day on the HST program? For me it’s hard to stay strict on eating guidelines, does anyone have any suggestions as to what foods are best for snacking on between meals that’s good for weightlifting, keep in mind easy to make, and easily obtainable. Thanks for everyone's help. Rosse
Also below I have my first routine exercises, not including legs, Please critique
Flat Bench
Pull-ups Chin
Seated Row
Shrugs
Dips
Bicep Preacher
Skullcrusher
Military Press
Lower Back ext

Overall i just want to gain as much weight as possible, of course mostly muscle. and by being on a college routine it is hard to eat and workout effectively week to week. suggestions about eating habit to obtain the best results. Please add your opinions if you could

Why no leg work?
I eat everything, unless I am trying to lose fat. Right now I am increasing my muscle size, so I just eat a lot. Trying to break the 200 lb.s barrier and I find it takes alot of calories. I eat a ton of everything including fatty foods, and I still have decent muscle definition.

"and by being on a college routine it is hard to eat and workout effectively week to week"

You want a suggestion? Stop making excuses! College is on pretty defined schedule. I dont see how hard it would be to set something up. Make the sacrifices you need to get the results you want. If its not important enough to you to have a regular routine, a decent diet, and a good sleeping pattern, then dont expect decent results, unless you are courting disappointment. Also, did you even read the HST info on this site? Thats a pretty crappy routine. Use the search feature for "Simplify and Win"

I have a legs workout i just didn't include them because I wanted critique on other exercises. I already read other people's examples for their routines and bryan. Thats what i got out of it, I am new at this so i wouldn't mind some help from people that don't mind giving help.

I work out 1st thing in the morning, so my eating is typically something like:
5:30 protein shake w/ oats
7:00 protein shake w/ fruit
9:00 oatmeal w/ flax seed, fruit, & milk
12:00 lunch
3:00 fruit & milk
5:30 dinner
8:30 snack or shake

not to pile on as I don't know if you play sports, have a job, etc. but college is the single easiest time you will ever have setting up a workout schedule. you will never have more free time than you do now.

Try this, 16-20 cals/lb. Start with 16 and increase until you are gaining about a pound a week. Eat more protein too, from whole food if possible instead of shakes.

This macro profile is a good starting place. P-35%, C-45%, F-20%.

Do this routine
Squat
SLDL
Bench
Row
OHP
Pullup
Crunch+weight or cable rope crunches.

Weeks 1,2 Do 1x15 for each
Weeks 3,4 Do 2x10 for each
Weeks 5,6 do 3x5 for each
Weeks 7,8 do either negatives or continue with the 5's again, seeing how heavy you can work up to before SD.

You are in college. That probably means you are young and your test is naturally jacked. Take full advantage of this time. I allowed college to be an excuse to get fat and sloppy...don't do the same. Good luck you you and study hard.
