I've been taking Flax Seed oil thinking it was a good thing to consume... but i've read that there are differences between "EFAs". Is flax seed oil an EFA, or should I aim for something different? What are the benefits of this stuff anyway because I've got 24 ounces in my fridge
Omega-6 fatty acids are everywhere: corn oil, sunflower oil and soybean oil all contain them. Omega-3 fatty acids are harder to find. Things like flax seeds(contains a good amount Alpha-linolenic), pumpkin seeds and walnuts are high in omega-3 fatty acids, as are salmon, trout and tuna. So there is nothing wrong with flaxseed oil supplements, if it is Omega 3 fatty acids you need.
