Exercise problems

I'm unable to do pullups and dips currently. Should i try to do the machine assisted versions of these exercises or something else?

That depends on WHY you can't do them. Is it a strength limitation? Or because of some kind of shoulder problem?

If it is a strength limitation then using a dip/pull-up assist machine is a good way to go. If it is because of some other reason then it would depend on the reason you can't do them.

thanks, i guess i'l experiment with it.

i have one more question. after finding my 15RMs today, I found that for an exercise I want to do that my max is 30. So, for the first workout I should be starting with 15reps of 5lbs. according to the calculator, but this seems too light. should i trust this system, or just lift more weight than i found through the calculator?

You want to start with about 70% of your RM. To do this you can repeat weights during the 2 week block if necessary. So maybe you would do something like this.

20,20,25,25,30,30
