Forced reps and other intensity techniques

Hey guys I was wondering why these techniques worked?

I mean rest pause training is DC training and those guys are @#%@#$ strong and huge, drop sets are amazing as well, forced reps I dunno I wanna try them some time soon.

But yeah the question is why do they work? what do they do that normal weightlifting does not?

Why wouldn't they work? You are moving around heavy stuff. Almost everything works, at least for a while.

yes but do they have some kind of metabolic advantage (well drop sets do) or something like that? why is it that rest pause training makes one so strong etc?

heheh.

I think the answer to your question is that HST is based on the science of hypertrophy, while DC, HIT, rest-pause and others are based more on strength training prinicples, and have little-no foundation in the physiology of muscle growth. The things that make rest-pause, dc, hit etc work (ie. make you grow) are the same principles that make HST work: namely "moving heavy stuff around" as Totentanz put it. HST is better for your joints than those methods you mentioned, avoids fatigue, and are hence better for natural lifters (because steroids increases healing time, a luxury us natties don't have), and principles like progressive load and stratagetic deconditioning prevent plateauing, which is the major problem people find with HIT, DC etc., and why they abandon them as soon as they hear about HST (after plateauing with the others).

Trust me when I say if you've tried these others, then complete one full HST cycle, you will know what I'm talking about, and will not be disappointed. Until you've done that, don't judge it based on what you think you know.

Not to mention (but I do...) the Intravenous Chemical Assistance program that most of the DC'ers are on...

Going to failure and forced reps are not necessary for strength or hypertrophy.

I've used both. I never pulled 500 because I would always burn out. Using HST principals I finally pulled 500.
