General Protein Question

Hey guys,

Is WPI really that much better then WPC? Is it worth paying almost double for?
Also, I read somewhere that protein only last like 3-4 hours in your system without being converted to fat(or maybe excreted) Is this true? and if so, what is the point of drinking the protein in the morning hours or even days away from your next workout. hmm i guess that answer would be obvious- your muscles are still absorbing protein?

Sorry, didnt mean to send that like that. I also wanted to ask about what amino acids and stuff i should be looking for in a protein. And, is it- like the protein manufactuers would have you belive- worthwhile buying different protein for different stages of your workout cycle. but yeh, just mainly the difference between WPI and WPC protein, and anything else you think a soon-to-be internet protein purchaser should know. Thanks

The difference between some form of wheys is minimal, others are slightly more but not much in the big picture.

Most commonly WPC is available in WPC80, which means there is 80grams of protein per 100g of powder. WPI is higher concentration of protein hence the 'isolated' tag, usually around 90-92% of the powder weight.

The amino acid difference between normal WPC80 and Microfiltered WPI is extremely minimal, just in quantity per gram. The difference between WPC80/MF WPI and ion exchange WPI is due to the manufacturing differences, with lower levels of one of the 'whey' proteins being extracted and showing an overall different amino acid profile.
WPC is usually the cheapest, but comes with a little more fat and carbs, the WPI MF and Ix can be similar in price depending on where they are sourced.
