Each cycle has been increasing my bench press 5 lbs. This past cycle increased my bench press from 265, to 275! I use the smith machine because helps prevent pain from an old shoulder injury that a regular bench really aggravates so 275 might not be all that glorifed. However, I am only about 165 lbs!

Pre-HST my max was 235 for a steady two or three years. Now its up 40 lbs in under 2 years! Not to meantion actual size increases.

C'mon!!! You know HST only produces big weaklings!!!

Seriously, HST produces strength. The program is certainly not optimized for strength, but it produces!

Totally agree, a few months ago I started HST again after a few months of a layoff and I did 250 about 5 times on the flatbench. After a complete HST cycle I was able to do 250 10 times.

You WILL get stronger.

Right after flat, I do incline too. Still feel it though (not as intense). My shoulder is very messed up from years of baseball and injuries (torn rotators).
