Harm in adding an exercise

There is no harm at all, but just make sure to keep strict form as it is an isolation exercise. It is really just meant to be a "finisher" by helping to force a higher volume of blood into the muscle. One of those pump up and look in the mirror exercises lol. I would never go lower than 8 reps personally. IMO it's way more effective to do compounds than iso's with HST principles so ligther sets of DB bench presses in the 8-12 rep range would prob help you more in the long run.

Other than the fact that cable crossovers are pretty much a waste of time and energy, then no. It's pretty much impossible to maintain form on these when you get heavier, and if you aren't maintaining form then they aren't hitting the same muscles.
