Hey Old and Grey

Hey Old and Grey there is hope for us yet. I guess this post could be under a number to titles

1) A build I really like
2) An example of what you can achieve without steroids
3) How long can you "stay with" lifting.

This is Vic Seipke, a 1950s top bodybuilder...still lifting at 74. Here is an artical from his hometown paper.

(I hope the pics post I seem to have trouble with that)

Judging by his picture in the paper, he is in great shape at 74. I remember him from Bob Hoffman's magazine Strength and Health. Thanks for posting the article Bob.

Great article and pic Bob. Any idea what Vic weighed in those shots? He's my height but he's definitely got more mass than me. I'm around 205 at the moment but with a bit more than 15% bf. My guess is that he would be around 225 and around 10%bf?

I never knew him in his prime, but I got to play softball with Vic in the the 1980s when he was about 50. He was about 5'9" (maybe) and said that he normally competed at 195 but had gone as high as 209. I'm not sure what he might have been in those pictures ...

Lol -- One thing I read said he was 5' 9", 195 lbs when he won Mr. Michigan for 1951. With a 19" neck, 48" chest, 29" waist, 26" thigh. -- So he was very lean the pics above where taken latter (the beach pic was used on a 1955 Iron Man Mag cover). So he bulked up a bit from 195lbs. But I don't know. It is funny that those guys way back when -- were and still are on the forefrount of natural body building. We can still look to them regarding what they achieved and how they did it. Though nutrition and lifting theory have greatly improved. It is amazing what they achieved.
