How to accomodate swimming w/HST

I'm about to take up swimming training, 2-3x per week - casually, not competitively. I am wondering what the optimal way to maintain LBM is? I assume it's just adjusting for an increase of calories and management of the joints etc, but I recall back in the day (Old&Grey, Dan, Fausto etc) used to advise against swimming b/c of the energy expenditure required - is it actually that relevant beyond adjusting intake?

John Berardi at precisionnutrition.com worked out a method of high caloric turnover to increase LBM.
He calls it g-flux. I believe it requires a minimum of 10hrs of exercise per week. What you are doing
Is similar to this. I recommend you check it out. His client photos were encouraging.

Will do, cheers. I'm actually 'fine' not getting bigger at this stage, but I don't want to burn off 5-6years of work either (not in a dramatic sense, no one's pulling the 'oh no I did cardio 7 my biceps have disappeared!'), but muscle gained is muscle eff'ing earned and I'm keeping it :p
