Hi well normally after the gym I slap an ice pack onto my right pectoral as I injured it in the passed. I still sometimes trigger it again so the ice always always helps. With all sore muscles aswell.

What dose it actually do the muscle apart from freeze it lol. Hope there ain't no harm is using ice pack as I find them quite usefull. I suppose they could burn the skin though.

i was told many times to use hot and cold compress's i found it didnt work, the best thing for your muscles it heat bang a hot water bottle on it,its much better and makes perfect sense because you are getting blood flowing in that area which supplys nutrients etc to the muscle, think about it if you put something cold on it that will work for the swelling but will restrict circulation to the muscle,i recently pulled a muscle in my bicep each time i worked out it got worse(all week)so after my friday session i put a water bottle on it and by sunday it had gone.
