Some questions I would like answered:

Did they train snatch, C&J and squat each day, for four or five days a week?

How much volume did they do at around 60% intensity?

For the high intensity reps (90-100% of 1RM) were the figures for each exercise or all exercises combined? Were they for each week or the entire 10 week period?

It does sound like the reps were for the entire 10 week period. So, I'm guessing that means that for the LIG, 46 reps were performed for each exercise over the 10 weeks. That's basically 1 high intensity rep a day.

If that is the case then we are looking at around 2 reps a day for the MIG and 4 reps a day for the HIG for each exercise.

Most of us here will be doing quite a bit of volume for 5s at the end of the cycle but we will be unlikely to be doing the same exercises 4 or 5 times a week. And, most wouldn't be working at that intensity for more than a month or so.

[LIG (46 repetitions), MIG (93 repetitions), HIG (184 repetitions) but not able to complete the reps]

They could have meant weekly reps?

Yeah, they could have meant that. In which case I have to assume that the rep counts were for the three exercises combined. 180 reps a week per exercise sounds excessive to me even for the HIG.

That would be about 60 reps a week (or about 15 reps per w/o) for each of the three exercises at around 5RM loads for the HIG. Of course if they pushed it above 95% intensity it would be killer! Shame they didn't just keep to 90%.

That amount of volume would seem ok but in all this we don't know how much lower intensity work they were all doing only that all groups were doing it. That could make a massive difference to the results seen by the HIG trainees.
