Hey guys I have been toying with an idea latley that I might try sometime in the next 6 weeks.

I have been thinking about doing just a Chest / Back routine for 4 weeks no other exercises.....b/c this area of mine could use some specialization.

Now my theory..is kind of HST meets old school...but remember its just for 4 weeks and its to bring just my back and chest up.

Tell me what you think.

Also I will be eating everything in sight these 4 weeks!

Day 1 Chest / Back (Volume day)

10 degree bench

18 reps total with 8 rep max, ideally this would look like 3 sets of 6 reps stopping 2 reps shy of failure.

Rows

same as above

Dips 3 sets of 12 reps
Chins 3 sets of 12 reps

Day 2 Rest

Day 3

Same exercises as Day one but 3 sets of 15 reps with 20 rep max (Recovery Workout)

Day 4 rest

Day 5 rest

Day 6 Same as day 1

Day 7 rest
Day 8 Rest
Day 9 repeat workout

Whats your opinon on this??

I can't believe 4 weeks will be long enough to make a big enough difference.

I'd just do a complete cycle where I did chest and back first with perhaps a bit more volume and then do a single work set for a few other key compounds like squats and deads.
 
If you do this, you will immediately die.

You would want to maintain everything else while you specialize. In fact, why not just try one of Lyle's specialization routines?
