New incline fly

I've been experimenting with different cable exercises as stretch point exercises as I like the continual resistance they provide.

I use it for flies, bending over to about 45 degrees and bringing the handles directly downwards from the top position so it's the equivalent of a decline fly I guess, feels good anyway.

I was thinking about an alternative where the handle is fixed to the bottom pulleys and the finishing position is with the arms parallel to the ground out in front - I'm thinking this would be similar to an incline fly and would give a very different feel.

Has anyone tried this before and/or does anyone think this would be a good idea?

I guess it would as its partially a front raise and also most incline work tends to work them - did you find it ineffective for upper chest then?

I just like trying out new exercises and was playing around with the idea when doing my usual cable flies - I like to pretend I'm vince Gironda and can come up wth new exercises that hit the spot better than anything before :D :D :D
 
I found it effective until I started to get to heavy weights, and I couldn't cross over as far - less chest being used. I'd say it's better for ant. delts than upper pecs...I've always liked db incline press for upper pecs, think it's the best for me.
