To Fatigue or Not to Fatigue...

When do you know it's time to end the set?? when you don't wanna do anymore, or when you're absolutely positive that if you do one more you're arm will fall right off? what does the end of your set feel like to you?

1-2 reps short of fatigue, if you want to increase intensity you can then drop set the weight but make sure that drop set ends 1-2 reps short of fatigue as-well. Also only use drop sets at the last set of an exercise.

There is not a one size fits all answer, but one possible rule of thumb is to terminate a set when you can't maintain your rep speed. Folks tend to use different tempos ... some pretty quick, some slower ... but when that speeds slows down because you're struggling that might be a good sign you are nearing failure and shouldn't push too much harder. Not perfect, but not a bad rule.
