Should I do drop sets?

At the moment I do a warm up set, a work set and a drop set for each muscle during my workouts.

I would like to do more work sets but don't have time. In the interests of making the workout more effective, do you think I should remove the drop sets and just add another work set?

I have been doing the drop sets because I read the lactic acid and other byproducts they produce is beneficial for tendon healing and also some extra muscle growth is stimulated. I would also like to know if several work sets could bring about just as much or more lactic acid than 1 work set followed by a drop set.
