simple question

this is what my cycle looks like for DB curls:

15's - 10,15,20,20,25,25
10's - 15,20,20,25,25,30
5's - 25,25,30,30,40,40

ok, now, i know that this program works on the principal of progression, but as we all can see the first 5 workouts of each 2 week cycle dont nearly have enough weight...so, can someome please give me words of encouragement that the light weights will actually work.

other exercises are fine, i think.

thanks a lot

ynballin,

What would be better would be:

15s: 17,17,19,21,23,25
10s: 20,22,24,26,28,30
5s: 30,32,34,36,38,40

But that's not possible right?

If that's the case (and you can't get hold of any wrist weights) I would do this:

15s: 15,15,20,20,25,25
10s: 25,25,25,30,30,30
5s: 30,30,35,35,40,40

As you will be doing RM loads several times, avoid failure on all but the last w/o of each rep range. That might mean stopping a rep short.

You could skip curls for 15s altogether anyway and then your progression for 10s could be:

10s: 20,20,25,25,30,30

Up to you.

Just as an observation: your 5RM seems higher than I would have expected based on your 15RM and your 10RM figures so you may find that your 15RM and your 10RM improve a fair bit by next cycle. Definitely retest them at the end of this cycle.
