In your opinion, which is the best way to execute SLDL ?
With straight legs and locked knees, or with the knees slightly bent.

Thank you

Andrea

Yes, unlock your knees slightly. In order to keep your back flat you need to rotate more around your hips (unlocking your knees will help with this). Flexibility will come with time if you're a bit stiff in that area right now.

No need to stand on a block. You will get plenty of stretch just standing on the floor plus you will find it easier to keep your back flat.

Once you get the form right don't be scared to up the poundages. It's surprising how heavy you can go BUT always keep good form and a steady cadence throughout the exercise. No bouncing the weights off the floor.

I am not very flexible in the hamstrings, so to be safe I only go low enough to get the bar below my knees, I never go all the way down,( until my flexibility gets better). It still works though as my hams are usually pretty sore the next day after these.

best advice ive ever heard is....
concentrate on sticking your butt out not on leaning or bending over.
try and concentrate on "feeling" the hams do the work on the way up dont just lift/pull up as that is more low back. start light and build slow.

hope that helps.
good luck
