Squat only Workout day

HI,

I've seen couple of times guys that they only do Squats on one workout while i'm doing my whole body workout. I noticed that their legs were quite thick. But is not that overtraining? or becuase Legs are so large muscle, doing a squat workout only be beneceficial if you are trying to grow your legs?

1 There probably doing more sets than they need to if they're squatting for a whole workout
2 Doing squats will strengthen your legs, I dont think any tesosterone/GH spike from doing them is going to help anywhere else
 
There are so many variables that could be different in your case to the guys you have seen doing a whole w/o of squats.

How long have they been doing this? Are they juicing? What actual progress have they made in the last year? etc., etc.

Unless you know all about them I would forget about it and get stuck into your HST routine. If you do it properly, eat plenty of the main food groups and get enough rest your legs will grow as fast as is naturally possible. But it does take time. If you are not juicing there is no short cut.

Don't forget that you will be hitting your legs 3 x weekly (or more). At the end of the 5s you could be doing 3 sets of heavy squats (plus warmups) and 2 or 3 sets of heavy SLDLs plus a high rep drop set for each. That's 9 sets of heavy squats and 6 to 9 sets of heavy SLDLs plus warmups. I bet those guys aren't doing much more than that in their session and they won't be benefitting from the frequency as I doubt they do their squat day more than once a week.

So try not to get hung up on what others are doing. Stick to your plan and find out what works for you. Do a cycle where you focus on your legs a bit more if you like and see how it goes.
