i enjoyed reading the post about "reactions to muscle" some interesting points of veiw, but what about you, what is your reaction, have you become one of lifes winners has it been positive or are you an a**hole?personally i got interested in it after watching pumping iron and alot of the action films starring arnie and sly stallone.Weight training has made me a much more asertive person especially in the work place, years ago i wouldnt say boo to a goose but now i speak up and stand my ground if i believe in something,it has made me a little more aggresive(especially after a really heavy session)but i dont go around beating people up.all in all i found it positive meeting new friends going new places, now i have hst things are really falling in to place.

Weight training, the serious version, has made tremendously positive about life in general.

Yep, I do find agression sometimes getting to me, but I just try to suppress it, specially at home, it is not worth it!

I found HST and weightlifting genrally a good way of life, it is inseparable from me (training - that is) and many, many times it has kept me from buckling under the stress, but coupled with other things of course, I'll save those from discussion here as they are purely personal and may not suit all who read this thread!

Weightlifting has made me more confident physically. I'm pretty much involved in a lot of athletic activities, getting stronger and bigger is definitely a blessing.

It also teaches me discipline and focus, as well as perseverance. When all you want to do is lay down and die, you remember, "oh, wait, I'm not yet finished deadlifting... oh well, here goes the last few reps, God help me..."

Building muscle takes a lot more discipline and focus and pateince than most noobs realize, and those characteristics are sometimes the hindrance to their growth.

Getting to learn all the interesting stuff is also a good thing that I enjoy the most. Next to finishing a good set of deadlifts, that is!

I wish I would have started weightlifting and even HST years ago, but then again - I'm still young at 20 years old. It definitely helps me in my day-to-day lifestyle by having extra motivation, and that I want to do as much as possible with my life.

On that note, I gotta go to the gym.
