Training inbetween workouts

Most everyone knows what my current routine is.

Its 3 days a week with compounds.

However I dont have any equipment to workout at home, nor do I have the space. What I do have is a swiss ball that I train my abs on.

However this weekend I bought a pair of 40 pound dumbells from Walmart, I bought them b/c they were the biggest they had and I figured I could used them to rep out with on days that something came up and I could not workout " It's better than nothing"

However I have thought about using them on say my off days to do 2 sets with for chest and back. The weights will be more like my 25 rep max...but i figured it couldnt hurt..or could it.

What do you guys think?
 
I guess that would be some good metabolic work would it not?
