Quote[/b] ]It is also leptin which is responsible for the anabolic hormonal millieu associated with the so-called "fed state", and the lack thereof during underfeeding (42, 43). Thus, in addition to its supreme importance in our fat loss efforts, it is extremely important in increasing and maintaining muscle mass.
Do calorie requirements for muscle growth change up, or down when one is around their fat setpoint, assuming one is in an anabolic state due to normal/high leptin levels? ..eg. if someone is has started bulking from a lower bodyfat at fairly high cals, once they hit thier fat setpoint again does that mean the cals can be reduced for continued gains (yay! leptin) or should the force feeding begin?

...thanks for any input.

Above setpoint they should go up (slightly) as the body tries to burn off additional calories. But to worry about it when planning calories is potentially taking things to the extreme. Monitor calories, monitor weight/bodyfat, increase calories if you go a week/fortnight with no weight gain.
