Meal frequency

From what i understand when you sleep you are catabolic (you breakdown muscle) and when you eat you are anabolic (muscle building)...

My question is have any of you folks noticed greater/faster lean gains when you space your meals out maybe 6 per day compared to when you have only had 3 meals per day??? ive just started to include a protein shake in between meals to minimize protein breakdown and support lean tissue growth.
