Melatonin is a hormone.  Should I cycle it?

I want to begin taking melatonin. Since it is a hormone, do you think I should cycle it? If so, in what way do you think I should cycle it?

Hi Ruhl
Why do you want to use melatonin? Yes it is a hormone, made in a small gland in your brain called the pineal gland. Melatonin appears to affect the body in a variety of ways however its impact on sleeping is the main reason people use it. Aside sleep and jet lag, some use melatonin for other reasons such as cancer production and even to help slow the aging process, both of which are intriguing areas of study but no strong evidence yet in humans.
with respect to cycling, this couldn’t hurt to do and may help reduce any side effects, although studies to date show melatonin pretty safe for short term use. Preliminary studies that need to be verified hint that melatonin may lower blood sugar levels, which would be problematic for diabetics, and may also affect the viability of sperm but again nothing concrete in people. Hope this helps :)
