This is something that has always interested me...
If someone is at their natural genetic limit (after years and years and years of lifting) and they want to cycle one course of something, will the results stick when they finish the cycle?
For someone in their early 40's that wants to give this...
I think this is how I will start out after my current break. I will go high frequency for two weeks and then I will play with doing some drop sets. I only want to specialize like this on one muscle, while the rest of the body I will maintain with regular HST maybe twice a week.
I saw this discussion a while back. Interesting... I feel like adding something like this for fun to see what happens. What was your exact protocol for this? It would be interesting to compare this to the occlusion type training.
@Old and Grey
In my opinion, I think a 3 month break will do wonders for you and you might be surprised at what the down time will produce when you get back to lifting.
That sounds very high tech. Have you used these? Is there another option for someone who does not have access to such equipment? Home made panty hose wraps :)
Thanks Blade! So it looks like you are working a muscle twice a week? What are your thoughts on frequency for a lagging muscle? On some occasions, I have gone as frequent as training 3X a day (lower volume) for short bursts of 2-3 weeks.
