    bodyfat question

Thanks for the replies; they give me some clarification. And it makes sense now that you explain that 25% of the 12.8% is around my midsection. So now my goal is to lower my overall bodyfat and, therefore, lower Core BF through clean eating and building more muscle tissue. Dan, I had my BF...

    bodyfat question

Hi. I'm not sure the best forum for this topic, so I decided to try here. I had my bodyfat tested today. Total BF 12.8%; Core BF 25%. Could anyone supply feedback on the significance of the Core BF % in particular? Why are my 2 #'s so far apart? What Core BF % should I be aiming...

Don't lift at all. You are deconditioning your muscles to the stimulus of lifting so that they will respond better when you begin your HST cycle. It is a "planned" lay-off, hence "Strategic" Deconditioning.

What does the scientific evidence say?

Is anyone aware of studies which show whether circuit-style training OR doing all sets for a given exercise/body part in a row is the better route to hypertrophy? Does it make any significant difference?

    5X/wk cycles

Here's my routine, for what it's worth. I train 5-6X per week, always full body. In any given w/o I perform 1 exercise per muscle group. Here's how I set up the tens and the second week of fives; I may do more sets the first week of fives. I go through one set of each exercise in a circuit...

    What FREQUENCY do you train?

I've been resistance training a long time but am relatively new to HST (just finishing my second wk. of 15's), so I apologize if this question has been posted before. I'm curious as to what frequency everyone uses and why?? Both in terms of absolute frequency (training days) and body...

    Customizing HST

Thanks for taking the time to present all this info. Am I to understand from this that if I can structure my schedule to fit in #'s 3, 4, or 5, they are superior to performing #'s 1 or 2 (as listed by Jules?) Also, does this mean that mean that #'s 3, 4, or 5 are preferable even if I have to...

I believe the correct term is "Sir." ;) Seriously, Henrik. It's good that you learned the value of squats and deads so early on; it took me several years.

    Racquetball and HST (input requested)

Thanks xahrx. That's what I'll plan to do -- circuit style HST along w/ the rball and watch the diet. How often do you play rball, and how do you schedule it relative to your HST workouts?

    1 set per body part

Thanks for the reference. You're right, it contains a wealth of information.

    1 set per body part

Very interesting. I hadn't heard to up frequency before volume, and I'm not familiar w/ the ebook you mentioned. What is the rationale for increasing frequency first?

Great forum. Thanks to Bryan and all the posters for sharing your training knowledge. I'm 43 and have been resistance training 25 years. My main goal is to lose about 15 pounds of bodyfat while keeping the muscle mass I have; I don't care about building much more muscle. I began my first cycle...
