Smoking actually encourges rapid growth, causing a nutrient partitioning effect whereby fewer calories go towards fat and muscle and more go towards malignant tumors. ;)

I recently gave up smoking (8 months now) and it is rather clear to me that there is no benefits whatsoever from smoking!

I don't see how one could grow much on smoking, I struggled for years!

Ok, nutrition too had a big part!

Joe G - Fixed the problem, you were right!

I grow while smoking. Not something i'm particularly proud of and i really want to quit, but it hasn't affected bodybuilding whatsoever.

Cardio's a different story. ;)

Is the smoke going into the body the problem or is the nicotine in the body the problem?
So, is chewing tobacco just as detrimental as smoking tobacco?
