    Proper wat to SD ?

If you can, try to SD for 2 weeks (16 days, Friday to Monday). In my experience, 1 week only doesn't seem to cause sufficient reversal.

    Is ZIgzagging that bad ??

I'll second that. I've tried it both ways, and really there seem to be no measurable differences. If you ask me, either way is fine.

Is it okay using different increments in a cycle?

I agree with the other guys that this shouldn't make much of a difference in the end. Even though sometimes I do that (smaller increments to ensure some progression), I generally prefer to keep the size of the increments constant (per exercise), just for the sake of simplicity. Keep in mind...

    best mass building for arms

skinnyman, It has already been mentioned that cutting is not so different from bulking. I remember Vicious saying in an old thread that he considers cutting "a lousy bulking". In other words, nutrition is the key difference and not training itself. So, I would say that high frequency...

New in HST.. please review routine

Fausto, that's what I've done this cycle. During the post-5's (continuing with 5RM), I started feeling irritations/pain in the elbows and wrists while performing skullcrushers and barbell curls. I thought it was due to too much volume, as I felt that my arms received a fair amount of work from...

New in HST.. please review routine

True, there is some overlap, but that shouldn't be much of a problem, especially if the bench is only slightly incline. My biggest concern is the amount of weight that can be used with each exercise, as well as the number of possible increments. This will probably become apparent during the...

    HST Log

There isn't a great difference in weight between your 5RM and 3RM. Try maybe around 5% and cluster if necessary.

New in HST.. please review routine

I would probably choose a more compound exercise for shoulders instead of upright rows, maybe some form of shoulder press.

    Normal to feel wiped out...

Sounds like lack of carbs... Combined with the 15's, it leads to exhaustion. You can try working out in the evening to test for yourself whether the effect is the same, or take in more carbs some time before your morning workout, if you can. After a long night, the fuel stores of the body are empty.

    Introducing myself (Long)

Hey Rotlex, First of all, welcome to HST and this forum, you are in for a pleasant surprise. Looks like you've done your homework and you know a lot about nutrition, so I won't bother with that. Just a piece of advice, if you can, SD for longer than just 7 days. After 6 months of steady...

First w/o today and a little confused

Hey David, I wouldn't drop dips altogether, keep them in there along with incline bench. You can alternate between them as you mentioned, or even perform both of them in the same workout (3x a week), depending on your exercise tolerance and your goals. About the incrementation part, I think...

    Vertical vs Horz workout?

I think most people would find it a bit extreme to perform 1 set of 11 exercises and then do it all over again with the second set (or third, fourth etc.). This approach resembles cyclic training and is generally used for cutting with short rest intervals, therefore increasing aerobic capacity...

    10x-12x HST

I'd like to second what Jester said. I'm having a hard time getting in enough calories when I use high frequency. You'll have to eat more than what you are used to. This is the reason I believe high frequency is a valuable tool when trying to cut (especially with no/light cardio).

First w/o today and a little confused

I agree with colby2152 and Fausto. The second set doesn't always have to reach the prescribed number of reps. Try to get 15 reps in the first set and do not worry too much about the second. It is strange, however, that this happened during your first workout, when things should be pretty light...

    O/T Where has everyone been

Yeah, I too believe that activity comes in waves. Sometimes things can be hectic, sometimes they are slow. The same pattern can actually be seen in many aspects of social life.

At first I was sad and disappointed

Hey Joe, In my opinion, it is inevitable to lose some size when dropping a lot of weight. 15+ pounds is a fair amount of weight, so there should be some obvious changes. Do you think your overall appearance has improved during this cutting phase? If so, then it was worth it and you don't need...

At first I was sad and disappointed

Perseverance and consistency is the name of the game. We all expect to see miracles in a few days, but unfortunately this is not the case. Just keep at it and the results will come. That's not to say of course that there will be no differences from cycle to cycle. Just remember not to get...

    maxl calorie intake

There isn't a "maximum" or a "minimum" caloric intake. First of all, you calculate your maintenance calories and then eat more or less depending on your purposes. Just remember it is better to avoid overdoing this (too much or too low). There are actually a bunch of formulas...

Going to failure on last sets??

Going to failure once in two weeks isn't that terrible, especially given the fact that next thing you'll be starting a new rep range with relatively "easy" weights. Of course it depends on myriads of other factors, but I feel that most people can handle it once in a while, without this...
