ok, something different for a change..
my log must be pretty boring to read
haha.. other than stats... too tired
to add more ususally.

anyway, this incident really happened yesterday.
normally, I dun buy protein from my local GNC
as it's a ripoff, but my friend had some type
of claim so i made use of it.

i actually bought a big tub of muscle milk
& a smaller box (about 5 ibs) of DESIGNER
whey (which was expiring mar 2008) & e
latter was going for only $49 (my currency)
couple days after christmas.

I opened up the expiring whey yesterday
in the office & transferred the contents
into a whey container for easier storage
& access.

& after a while, I wanted to have a quick
protein shake as I was rushing work.
i suddenly saw maybe 3 or 4 later
at least 7 to 8 weevil like insects struggling
out from the protein & happily crawling around!!!

some of the protein powders also became like
small chocolate balls. I was shocked & called
couple of friends to see if they ever experienced
this in expiring powder.
(normally expiring stuff would be sold for 50% or
less) obviously not.

I couldn't even wait till after work & went down
during lunch to confront them. I told the staff
that expiring powder was acceptable but not
with insects in them. The ladies saw the insects
& were apologetic. They promised to feed back
to HQ.

I got a 1 for 1 exchange but better deal.
instead of whey, i got a 2.5 ibs of muscle
milk (expiring mar also) but if u compare
e 2 products, it's worth it. & they opened
e tub in front of me just in case.

& oh muscle milk mocca tastes like heaven!
i had my 1st scoop yesterday nite. i think
i might go back to buy the remaining 2 or 3
tubs later.....

sorry for the long windy story... but anyone
else got any horror supplement story to tell?

then maybe throw in some
rhino beetles like those in japan?
haha.. will try post pics if i can
at night.

Muscle milk is good for getting fat. I know the story behind it but don't know if it's true or not, so won't post that.
Little known fact:
If you eat cereal, cook with flours, or generally have anything to do with grains, you have eaten more bugs than you could ever imagine. The bugs are processed out for the most part, but to eliminate every one, every larvae, every budding slug that there is would cost too much and waste a lot of product, so there is an 'acceptable level' they have that passes. Your bugs probably weren't bugs when boxed up, but larvae. Now they are bugs. Very healthy, strong bugs. High protein bugs.

well, quadancer.. wish u had posted tat earlier.
i just went to snap up 2 out of e remaining
3 muscle milk left on e shelf!

pls post wat u know bout it making ppl fat
quick!!!!!

as for e bugs, can't say it's part of my staple diet.

I wouldn't mind drinking the muscle milk. You will probably gain more muscle and strength anyways. It's probably just higher in calories so if you do all the calculations you should be fine and not gain fat.

+1...extra calories make you fat. The muscle milk should be fine, I would use it if I had it. I just use regular milk and whey powder.

I just use regular milk and whey powder too. I got some cereal and now because of what quad said I have been looking in it to see if I can find bugs.

there's 18g of fat (9g sat) in 2 scoops which is equal to 1
serving but i only take 1 scoop which is half a serving
each time so it's 9g of fat of which 4.5 is sat.

other than tat if it's xtra calories i suppose it's ok
anyway, moving towards e 10s nxt wk so prob
will need e xtra cals also.

as for costs, it's ex here so i won't even buy it
if it were not expiring. (cheapskate i am lol

A bucket of whey protien seems to be cheap from where I live. My fiance just got me a bucket for around 10 dollars on sale.

how big is a bucket?
let's say I buy from my local
online shop cheapest i can get
for a 5 ibs tub is about $70+
or prob $60+ US
bodybuilding is not a mainstream
sports here where i stay, unlike
states & europe.

down here, bodybuilders are viewed
as vainpots, tv extras, ad extras
(there is a site which used a bodybuilder
to launch its site but sad to say
his body sucks & he really gives bodybuilding
a bad name), not to mention some
gays are part of e sport. (this last point
being e same everywhere)

just e other day i saw a couple of gays
working out & one of them was touching
them other guys triceps.

I just went to go check how big the bucket was. It's two pounds worth it seems but the bucket looks fairly big. With 70 dollars I could buy so much whey that I would be set for a very long time. I don't think I would because some of the buckets might expire before I could use them.

Muscle milk. My supp guy sells it because guys ask for it but doesn't recommend it due to the fat content mostly, but I suppose if you're watching your cals and CFP ratios, you can get away with it; it's just easy to overload the fats with that. I did.
The story:
Supposedly, the guy who produced this stuff worked for a dog food company. He was fired and started a company of his own with a formula that was used for puppies, ripped off from the place he worked. Called it "Muscle milk". It incidentally had the same amount of fat as in yo' mama's milk, so...

About the bugs: my wife says that they came up with a new process for removing and killing larvae in stuff, so that may be why I haven't seen any in a while. They used to be bad in organic stuff I used to buy. Ain't science grand? But there goes some of our protein source...

well, if science improves yr food it will also
make it more expensive. like how ridiculous
organic food is more ex over here.

but i dun get something. usually protein
powders are lower in fat. muscle milk
resembles weight gainer, only diff is lower
in sugar & higher protein content. why this
unusual combo? so u gain weight but
make it appear legit?

Weevils - not as bad as finding out the "pink stripes" in your bag of strawberry protein; are actually snail trails, left by slugs...
