"In 2006, it also extended maximum lifespan of a short-lived fish, Nothobranchius furzeri, by 59% and the median lifespan by 56%. Also noted were an increase in swimming performance, an increase in cognitive performance (learning tasks), and a lack of neurofibrillary degeneration (found in a control group)".

Sorry Mr O, don't know anything but if it means drinking more red wine I'll give it a go! I definitely feel like I will live longer after a bottle or two.

Anyway, here are some more links from the friend that told me about it. First is an interesting study done on mice.

My friend is saying this now "Eat, drink, take resveratrol, and be merry".

"In recent years, research has shown that resveratrol can extend lifespan in yeast, flatworms and fish."

Haha! I was sort of thinking that I was a little higher on the food chain, myself....

It will be definitely interesting to see what happens in the simian experiments that are occuring now. If everything holds up, I think its human studies next. That would be badass if it worked for humans. Most of the stuff that works great in animals doesnt seem to pan out in humans.

It doesnt really say much about what it did for the healthy mice, but if it works as well in the healthy mice as it does the fat mice, that is fantastic.
