Cell regeneration

I heard that cells in the body are regenerated every 4 months.

Does this apply to muscle cells? How does it worked? Is is possible that an hypertrophied cell be replaced by a non hypertrophied new cell?

The normall cellular turnover that you are referring to occurs frequently in cells that are highly mitotic.  Muscle cells are post-mitotic and, as such, don't go through that turnover.

Now, that's not to say that skeletal muscle won't go through apoptosis due to other factors (aging, atrophy from disuse, DNA damage, etc...) but, in general, there isn't constant skeletal muscle cell turnover as far as I know.  Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong :)
