continuous tension

is continuous tension important for muscle growth?by that i mean for 1 set 5 reps max ,i perform 3 reps pause for 2 mins then perforn 2 reps.
does this interfere with growth or microtrauma as the first 3 reps are too short in tension?as there is a break in tension or the tut not maintained?

The break in tension does not limit the hypertrophic effect.

It will decrease the training value if you're trying to train for performance of 5RMs, a display of strength endurance. . . but the hypertrophic effect is still there.

so you mean the microtruma ocurred in the first 3 reps?so why perform another 2 reps?
dont you think the tut is too low to promote a hypertrophic stimulus?

no , he is saying that 3+2=5. peforming 5 reps straight or breaking them up still exposes the muscle cells to the load for the same amount of time.
the only thing you might loose out on is the build up of metabolic by-products and their stimulation of improved muscle quality.
