Creatine

I am from Germany and noted that all Creatine products here are not allowed for Teenagers. At least it's printed on every product.
As far as I know, Creatine has no side-effects so why shouldn't a young bodybuilder use it?
It's not too important for me (I am 42) but recently my 16 year old son asked for Creatine and I am a bit unsure what to do.

I would think the answer lies in a teens ability to naturally have enough ATP production, and creatine could actually shut down their normal output thinking it doesn't have to put any more out if it is going to be supplemented. Not sure about the last part of my statement, but the first part is primarily true. Good diet with hard training will probably give the teen great gains.

Its probably a public health thing due to the lack of research on teenagers. In reality there is nothing showing a reason not to supplement with it, as it will help. Creatine isnt about ATP production perse, its more about quick ATP regeneration.
