Damn Apples' Ios 8.0.2 Update

Apples latest update has knackered my gym app (gym buddy), what apps do you all use (if you do of course) that you think is any good.

I haven't found a satisfactory app so I just use a notebook and compile my stuff on a spreadsheet.

That's how I used to do it before I found Gym Buddy but it is not an app that is supported so now rendered useless on my iPhone but at least it still is working on my iPad, just trying to get ahead of the game before IPad gets an update. May have to dust off the laptop as never use it since getting the iPad.

Does that app work well with various different routines? Most of the ones I looked at weren't appropriate for setting up planned out cycles like HST, 5x5, etc.

I currently use Gymrat on my Android phone. The Gymrat app that is available for iPhone is not the same app. I believe those are for tracking basketball stats. Anyhow, it's a good app but it's not very good for setting up HST routines. I directed the developer to the HST website and asked him to integrate some HST calculation tools which he seemed very interested in doing. But the last time I emailed him I got no response so I'm assuming it is a dead product. Actually, I just looked and it is no longer in the Google Play store...so it must be dead.

I wish someone would create a good HST friendly phone app for Android. I know there is one out there but it is buggy and cumbersome.

Not for HST set ups, was good for keeping records and simple to use etc, will get used to another one eventually.

And yes, gym buddy works well with various different routines. It takes a little getting used to at first but when you get the hang of it works just great.

I don't have any issues with Gym Buddy and iOS 8.0.2 running on my iPhone 5.
Not sure what is happening on mine, it opens up but nothing happens when you try and select anything, have deleted it and reinstalled and emailed database from Ipad but again does not upload that info.

I had issues with safari at first. Erased history and webpage data then worked fine. Could your app have same issues? Hope you had a backup of data if you have to delete.

I always email from my Ipad and upload onto Iphone so have email versions of database, at the moment can now get the app to work by deleting it, then downloading again, then turn Iphone off, turn it back on and hey presto it now opens up but then tried to upload the database from yesterdays workout and now it will not work when you open it up - maybe it is a compatibility issue between IOS 7 and IOS 8!!

My Gymrat android app is still not on the Play Store, so it must be done. Not sure why they pulled it from the Play Store though. It kind of pisses me off. Since I paid for it I should be able to re-download it any time I want but that's not possible now. I wanted to backup the app APK file but it is LOCKED which prevents it from being backed up. Out of all the apps I have on my phone it is one of only three apps that are locked. If my phone was rooted I could use Titanium Backup to backup the app...but it's not rooted.

If anyone knows of a good workout logging app for Android please let me know. I have tried JEFIT but didn't really like it. I have looked at several others as well but haven't really found anything that I like as well as I liked Gymrat.

I've been using Gym Buddy in place of my trusty old log book for a few years now. It's not a bad little app but it really does need an update. I still have it working on iOS 10 but it often crashes when entering a note. It's getting tedious to use now so I will either have to write one myself or find a worthwhile alternative. Any current favourites?

I still use it on the iPad but never got it working again on the iPhone, never really add notes so no issue for me there, AFAIK this app is no longer supported so no updates will ever be issued.

I have an Android phone (samsung galaxy s7) and haven't found a good app. Right now, I just use the memo pad to log workouts. Only thing that sucks is I lost my whole log for the entire year when I upgraded from my previous phone to this one, because the memo pad doesn't have a way to export stuff or save it.

Anyone have anything simple without fluff for Android that works well?

I have been using an app called GymRat. It won't automagically create a HST routine but you can build any workout you want with it. This app was dropped by the developer and removed from the Google Play Store so I had to find an "alternative" download when I needed to reload it. If anyone wants the App apk file so that they can try it out just let me know and I'll give you a link to download it.

I forgot to mention, if you just want to take notes and not lose them then try using Google keep or Microsoft OneNote.
