DC's no carb/fat meals & low carb at night

Doggcrapp's diet plan involves never combining carbs and fat into the same meal with the theory that the carbs could push fat ingested into fat cells.
also, he reccommends letting off carbs about 4-6hours before bed, stating that that carbs have more of a chance of being stored as fat at night when you are inactive.
how valid are these points? all else being equal.
is there any research to prove this?

Yeah, that first one doesn't even seem correct. The second idea sounds like it could be correct, but I have never seen research on it. I actually do this when I cut, but I primarily try to avoid high GI carbs (actually I try and always avoid high GI carbs except around workouts).

basically a bunch of rules to trick you into eating a certain way.

Not combining carbs and fat means that you avoid a whole heap of calories
Not eating carbs after 4-6 means that you cannot eat a lot of calories after 4-6pm which limits food intake

other than that, its not magical

yeah that is kind of what i thought but was interested anyway
thanks

i know total calories per day/week is the most important factor but does limiting food intake at night matter at all?

not really. I think there was a thread on this where someone was worried about GH release and protein turnover, but the conclusion was that it didn't really make a significant difference. So no, food intake at night doesn't matter. total cals day/week is what counts
